Pillows obsession

Mousse heaven

I miss Red Ribbon’s chocolate mousse…Whenever I feel like my energy is low, I buy 2 slices of Chocolate Mousse and eat them like there’s no tomorrow. I can’t seem to find the yummiest chocolate mousse yet here in Beijing. So I just stare at this picture and wish I was back home…

Chocolate flavored mantou

My latest addiction is eating fried Mantou dipped in condensed milk. Mantou is very popular in China (currently studying here). I discovered that mantou has a lot of flavors….and my favorite…Chocolate!
I’ve seen the plain brown one..but this I need to find!

1 cup butter, or regular margarine
3/4 cup baking cocoa
2 cups sugar
4 eggs, divided
1 1/2 cups plus 1/3 cup flour, divided
1/3 cup chopped almonds
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 cup chocolate mini kisses
1 cup chopped marachino cheries, drained

Chocolate Waffle

3 cups flour
2/3 cups sugar
1/2 tablespoon salt
2/3 cup cocoa powder
2 tablespoons baking powder
4 eggs
3 1/2 cups milk
1 cup oil
fresh fruit (optional)
maple syrup (optional)
In a large bowl, mix together dry ingredients and set aside.
