Godiva chocolate experience

When it comes to gourmet chocolate, everybody knows Godiva. It’s a must try for chocoholics, chocolovers, chocolatiers out there. Lately, I had a chance to try Godiva chocolate here in Singapore.

It wasn’t really the heat of the moment when I went in the store. I really needed to so I went in twice. The sales personnel were all patient enough to entertain all my questions. They didn’t offer for free taste but I had to ask, so they did give me. I tried the praline first which seems ordinary to me. I didn’t quite see the difference from other good chocolates I’ve taste. But the price was really boring a hole on my pocket. It was around S$25 per 100g for praline types and S$30 per 100g for truffles.

The truffles did look a bit intimidating at first. I tried the traditional truffles ones and it was quite good. I couldn’t imagine what my friend told me, that once you eat one truffle, you’ll feel full for the rest of the day. I wasn’t able to feel that though. There were a lot of upcoming promos that was inside the brochure. For Valentines, they even have this chocolate coated strawberry that you can give your love ones. What came as a shock is one of the chocolate box they sell, which include more than a dozen chocolates, and studded with Swarovski crystals, because it was really VERY EXPENSIVE (around S$420 a box!!!)

I end up buying only 3 pieces to let my friends try one too. I like the dark chocolate truffles but I’m not into nuts. I guess it was worth the experience, but I don’t think I’ll be going back soon. I need more money to enjoy Godiva, unfortunately…
